Age 2-3

Preparing for pre-school

For 2-3 year-olds, we offer a bright and spacious area to learn and explore. The children also use the central area to free-flow, with the ratio for 2-3 year-olds being 1:4.

The area is set out in different learning zones which coincide with the EYFS. There is also easy access to our large garden, which is used daily, often for free-flow play.

The staff offer a balance of play and group-based activities for the children to enjoy and achieve. In addition, they will prepare the children for pre-school.

Age 3-5

Preparing for pre-school

Our pre-school space is for children aged 3-5, with the ratio for these children being 1:8.

First Years Pre-School has a large space for the children to enjoy and achieve, with an outdoor area easily accessed from the room, which the children use daily.

Our staff organise a wide range of child-initiated activities and group work. The children enjoy practising their letters and sounds, and by the time they leave for primary school can either write their names or trace over them.
